Woodworking for Beginners - Level I
Designed for people with little or no woodworking experience, this 10-week class begins by covering the safe use of basic hand and machine tools. You will then learn and practice fundamental woodworking techniques as you construct a small cabinet.
Tuesdays, January 13 - March 24; 6:30-9:30 pm; $370 (includes materials fee of $40)
Woodworking for Beginners - Level II
Building on the skills acquired in Level I, this 10-week class introduces you to more complex woodworking operations. You will use jigs and fixtures on the table saw, router, and drill press to construct a piece of medium-complexity furniture. You will also learn to joint and edge glue boards to make the larger panels necessary for major furniture pieces. Prerequisite: Level I.
Wednesdays, January 14 - March 25; 6:30-9:30 pm; $390 (includes materials fee of $60)
Introduction to Trim Carpentry
This three-day class covers the basics of trim carpentry, including how to cut and install a variety of trim moulding like window and door casings, base moulding, and crown moulding. You will learn how to cope corner joints, straightforward techniques for installing doors and windows, and other tips and tricks for creating professional-looking installations.

Adult/Child Build a Toy (ages 8+)
Children will love building our version of Graces, an old-fashioned game with sticks and hoops. This 3-hour class gives children ages 8+ the opportunity to use a saw, drill, and hammer to build the game and create a bonus wood free-form sculpture or sphere as time allows. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Saturday, January 24; 9:00 am - noon or 1:00 - 3:00 pm; $40 per child (includes material fee of $5)
Veneering
Unlock the secrets of using veneer and a vacuum bag and open a new world of design possibilities and wood choices. In this two-day class, you will learn about basic veneer matching techniques and create panels using simple and four-way book-matching. We will cover the selection and preparation of veneers and substrates, edge-treatments, tools, adhesives, design techniques and proper use of the vacuum bag. Techniques for creating curved panels will also be discussed.
